Carl Switzer made his mark in 1935 in producer Hal Roach's OUR GANG short subjects series as Alfalfa, one of the series' most popular and best-remembered characters. Switzer's adult life was one of turmoil, eventually leading to his death by a gunshot during a drunken rage.
