As a director Browning had at least 25 unimportant productions until his first success with THE UNHOLY THREE, followed in 1931 by DRACULA and in 1932 by FREAKS. Once dubbed "the Edgar Allan Poe of the cinema," his 26 page file includes his 1962 will and codicil (loaded with bequests), petitions, and a very thorough inventory and appraisement of Browning's estate.
