Stompanato was a bodyguard and enforcer for gangster Mickey Cohen. In 1958, after a tumultuous relationship with actress Lana Turner, he was stabbed and killed by Turner's teenage daughter, Cheryl Crane. This 77 page file includes the 7 page autopsy, but more fascinating is the 69 page Coroner's Inquest wherein a jury has to decide if Stompanato's death was an accident or homicide. Very heady stuff for 1958.
