Just seven days prior to the one-year anniversary of his tragic and untimely death, John Ritter's widow (actress Amy Yasbeck) filed a wrongful-death suit against the doctors and hospital that treated him after he fell ill on the set of his sit-com 8 SIMPLE RULES.
